These JHS students have qualified as national finalists in FFA National Agriscience Fair. They entered the FFA Agriscience fair, in March, at the State Convention. These students worked hard to conduct a research project of their choice, write a research paper, make a display, and go through an interview process. As a result of placing first in their category at the State Level, they were able to submit their research paper to the National FFA Agriscience Fair. The top ten papers were selected from all entries throughout the country. These individuals have the opportunity to win a gold or silver award as a result of their interview that is to take place in September; the remaining entries will receive a Bronze award. Congratulations to these individuals on such a prestigious accomplishment!

Jonesville High School is proud to introduce Mrs. Kirby Berger as one of its newest staff members. Please help us in providing her a Comet welcome! Get to know a little bit about Mrs. Berger: "My name is Mrs. Kirby Berger; I am the high school's newest math teacher. I graduated from JHS in 2012 and earned my teaching degree at Central Michigan University-Fire Up Chips! I have spent the past four years teaching math at a neighboring school where I also discovered my passion for coaching. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing volleyball, and kayaking; however, my favorite thing to do is spend a night at home with my husband, daughter, and our two dogs. I am so excited to be back home and am looking forward to a great year! Go Comets!"

Jonesville Community, In cooperation with the Jonesville City Council, Jonesville Community Schools will be swapping a portion of existing land between our maintenance garage and Sunset View Cemetery with land owned by the city south of the cemetery. The City of Jonesville approached Jonesville Community Schools about a need for cemetery expansion and wondered if we could partner with the city and community. This will allow the city and community to have a more suitable area for future expansion for the final resting place of our loved ones. City Manager Jeff Gray and I would like to thank the Jonesville City Council and Jonesville School board for being so agreeable to this and making the process that much easier to the benefit of the entire community. Sincerely, Erik Weatherwax Jeff Gray Superintendent, Jonesville Community Schools Jonesville City Manager
