JCS would like to thank outgoing board member, Scott Campbell, for his 12 years of service to our district and community. Board membership comes with a lot of responsibility and navigating challenging times and events. Scott was able to do this while keeping a focus on what is best for staff and students. JCS is grateful and he will be missed! Thank you and go Comets!!!

Good morning Comet families. JCS will be on a two hour delay due to fog. Sorry about the inconvenience. Have a great day!

Reminder that Jonesville Middle School is running a fundraiser today at the Coldwater Applebee's. Applebee's is giving back 10% of sales tonight for the Washington D.C. trip for our middle schoolers. Please visit from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Go Comets!

Good afternoon Comet families! There are some questions about the FFA/Press box projects. The plans were both submitted to the state over the summer and came back with required fixes. We had them fixed and the plans have been resubmitted to the state. We hope to hear back soon! We apologize for the delays but the projects are on track!

Good morning Comet families. This morning Jonesville High School received a bomb threat as buses were set to pick up students. In an abundance of caution, I chose to cancel school.
Working with the Jonesville Police Department, they were able to determine that it was a hoax that began circulating yesterday. The Michigan State Police were contacted and will be bringing in a bomb sniffing dog into our high school just to be safe. Additionally, as part of the collaborative efforts to uncover the source, we worked with our I.T. department and utilized an outside security company to see if they could locate the ip address.
I apologize for the inconvenience. However, we will always put the safety of staff and students first. Our evening activities will run as scheduled. Thank you to our police department in their efforts to keep us safe. Have a great day.

MHSAA Cross Country Finals update.
Yesterday, the boys and girls cross country teams traveled to MIS Speedway for the MHSAA State Finals.
The boys team finished in 12th place. Leading the way for the Comets were Caleb Blonde's 4th place finish and Nick Fowler's 24 place finish - both good for All-State recognition. Also running well for the team was Collin Fucile, Zach Childress, Jacob Gray, Ashton Potwin, and Kaleb Males.
The girls team finished in 27th place. Leading the way for the girls team was Brynleigh Griffiths. Also running well for the team was Kiera Knight, Kendahl Drake, Joleane Gulldige, Mia Langhann, Julia Mandrelle, and Sarah Sheffer.
The Comets are coached by Jake Snyder and Chadd Copp.

Both of the Jonesville Cross Country teams qualified for the State Finals!. The last time this happened was in 1997! Coach Jake Snyder was fresh out of college, and was the assistant coach to Dennis Peacock. Fast forward to 2024- Coach Snyder and assistant coach Chad Copp guided BOTH teams to the State Finals!
The Comet ladies had the lowest pack time (1-5 runners) by over a minute to key their 3rd place finish. The top 3 teams advance from the Regional to the State Finals. Freshman Brynleigh Griffiths ran 21:00, placing 9th out of the 12 teams and 82 runners competing. She was All-Region and medaled. Sophomore Kiera Knight was 20th, running 21:40. Sophomore Kendahl Drake ran 21:43, good for 22nd. Sophomore Joleane Gulledge ran 22:14, placing 29th. Mia Langhann, also a sophomore, continued with another big PR to place 39th with a 22:51 time, completing the scoring.
The Comet boys also placed 3rd, advancing to the State Finals. Led by sophomore Caleb Blonde and Junior Nick Fowler’s 4th and 5th place finish, both earning All-Region. Caleb ran 16:09, and Nick ran 16:23. Sophomore Collin Fucile and freshman Ashton Potwin also finished together, placing 24th (17:35), and 25th (17:40). Senior Zachary Childress ran 18:05, placing 36th. At the end of the meet Jonesville was tied with Brooklyn Colombia Central. The scoring then went to the 6th man. Freshman Jacob Gray placed 43rd (18:51), 4 places ahead of Colombia Central’s 6th man to lock the Comets in at 3rd place. Columbia Central will also advance to the Finals, as they had 4 runners in the top 20, and placed 4th.
The Comets will run this Saturday at MIS for the State Finals. More details to follow.

Attention Pathways seniors! We are scheduling the Xello updates for next week. Please plan to attend one of these days/times.
