Attention: Comet Families
After monitoring the forecasted weather for Friday, May 23rd, I have come to the decision that the Class of 2025 commencement ceremony will be held in the high school gymnasium. The anticipated temperature continues to decline; it is projected to be overcast with winds at 10-20 miles per hour. It is important that our graduates have the celebration they deserve; unfortunately, the forecasted weather would not allow for neither our graduates nor those there in support of them to enjoy the program.
Furthermore, the weather is also interrupting our plans for the senior walk tomorrow. Given that the forecast currently calls for rain tomorrow morning, we will plan to take a bus rather than walk from building to building. We will leave JHS promptly at 9:00am; we will take the bus to the back of the elementary school and enter at the library doors then travel through the main hall to exit at the front entrance. We will then board the bus again and travel on to the middle school. Upon arriving at the middle school, we will enter the gym from the parking lot entrance. After exiting the middle school (again at the gym parking lot), we will board the bus again to return to JHS. We will enter at the back of the school through the gymnasium. You are welcome to capture photos and congratulate our seniors at any of the aforementioned points of entrance and/or exit.
I apologize for any inconvenience this change in plans will cause. Thank you for your understanding,
Mrs. Griffiths, JHS Principal

Good evening Comet families! I’m reaching out to you tonight to give you a quick update on a couple of things.
We received one bid for the FFA barn but it was beyond our budget so we are working on soliciting more bids. My hope is that we will be able to get a couple more bids and vote on the construction piece at the board meeting on the 27th. We have already purchased the materials so it will be ready to go. Between the groundwork, surveys, architects, and materials we have spent over 80% of the grant money for the project so we are in good shape. I do apologize for it taking so long.
The second item to update you on is what to do with the old track. The board discussed this at our study session this week and they decided to just wait a while before making a decision. We know the community enjoys using the track.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Go Comets!

This is our third year of offering the Litchfield Regional Training Center Racing Challenge summer camp. This is a STEM focused summer camp that is offered to middle school and high school students. High School offered the week of July 21-24 and Middle School August 4-8. This is a great week of learning, at an extremely reasonable cost of $50 per student, due to sponsorships provided by local businesses.

Good afternoon Comet families. I wanted to let you know that bus 6 was involved in an accident today. No one was injured but they are going to switch out the bus. The replacement bus is on the way right now. However, as a result, bus 6 students will be a little late to their usual drop off times. Have a good evening.

Reminder that the due date for the RFP bid for construction of the FFA barn is tomorrow, May 2nd by 3:00 p.m. Interested parties should go to Jonesvilleschools.org. From there, click on "menu" at the top. This will take you to another screen that will have choices that include, "documents". Click on that and the RFP documents for the FFA barn are at the bottom. There are two separate bids. One is for the concrete and the other is for the construction. We already have the materials. Go Comets!

Good evening Comet families. I wanted to make you aware of a situation that occurred earlier today. There was a chase involving the police and the suspect dumped the car next to the high school. The police did a sweep of the inside of the high school and found no one. In an abundance of caution, they will be there tomorrow morning as well. We want to thank the police department for their efforts in keeping our schools safe. Have a good evening.
