The MHSAA post season tournaments are in full swing moving forward.
The wrestling team had four of its wrestlers advance from last Saturday's Individual District tournament to this Saturday's Individual Regional tournament at Martin High School. Congrats to Blake Ryan for finishing second, Briggs Baker and Max Young for finishing third and Noah Knepfler for finishing fourth. Wrestling starts at 10:30 am on Saturday. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are accepted and tickets need to be purchased through GoFan.
The bowling teams won their Cascades Conference team tournaments this week end at JAX60.! Marshal Baker won the Cascades individual tournament! Their team regionals will be on Friday, Feb 20 and the individual regionals will be on Feb 21, both at JAX60. Bowling starts at 9:00 each day. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are accepted and tickets need to be purchased through GoFan.
The competitive cheer team will head to Addison for the district on February 20 at 6:00. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are accepted and tickets need to be purchased through GoFan.
The varsity boys basketball district will take place February 23, 25, 27 at Hillsdale high school. Jonesville is the #1 seed and will receive a bye for the first round and will play on Wednesday, Feb 25, at 5:30 against the winner of the Hudson-Addison game. The championship game will be Feb 27 at 7:00. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are accepted and tickets need to be purchased through GoFan.
The varsity girls basketball district will take place March 2, 4, 6 at Quincy high school. More details to come after the brackets have been finalized. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are accepted and tickets need to be purchased through GoFan.

We will finish up with each athlete attending a sport specific meeting with the coaching staff of that sport to go over program expectations and hand out schedules.

The middle school girls basketball games at East Jackson for today have a change. Instead of the normal 7th-8th grade doubleheader, there will only be a 7th grade game that starts at 5:00(bus departure of 3:45).
The MHSAA post season tournament have arrived.
The wrestling team travels to Reading tonight for their team district. The event starts at 6:00. The first match has Homer taking on Camden. We take on Reading in the second match. The two winners will wrestle in the third match for the championship. Per MHSAA guidelines, no passes are accepted and tickets need to be purchased through GoFan. The wrestling individual districts are on Saturday, February 14, at Union City with a start time of 9:30.

The Lady Comets put forth a great effort, but fell short of qualifying as a team, placing 4th. 2 girls were All-Region (top 15), and 3 qualified for the State Finals. Keira Knight placed 13th with a PR of 20:57. Teammate Brynleigh Griffiths was 14th (21:07). Joleane Gulledge was an additional State qualifier, placing 16th with a PR of 21:09. Mia Langhann had a PR of 22:21, placing 37th. Addy Horton also PR’d, placing 42nd in 22:36. Sophia Morgan ran a PR for 54th (23:08). Alexa Moore was 69th (24:06).
On the boy’s side it was a dogfight. 6 points separated 3rd from 1st place. The Comet boys finished 3rd, qualifying for the fourth year in a row as a team to the State Finals with Coach Snyder and Coach Copp at the helm. 4 runners were all region (top 15). Leading the charge was junior Caleb Blonde, who conquered the course in 15:50, becoming Regional Champion. Nick Fowler was 7th (16:26), Collin Fucile 8th (16:29), Ashton Potwin 15th (16:51). Briggs Baker 41st (18:11). Jake Gray was 50th (18:30). Eli Norman 69th (19:04).
The State Finals are at MIS Saturday, November 1st. Girls D3 run at 10:10, boys at 11:30. Entrance opens at 7:30. Tickets are $11 per person though GoFan.co. Parking is included in that price.

Jonesville High School has been selected as one of the high school sports programs to receive funds from the 2025 McDonald’s High School Sports Digital Fundraiser!
Local area McDonald’s restaurants will be raising money for their local high school sports programs. Restaurants will be donating 20% of all digital sales made in the McDonald’s App on Tuesday, October 21st to your school’s athletic department.

Tomorrow is the day for the middle school Winter Sports Pre-season meeting for all Jonesville Middle School students interested in playing a winter sport. It will take place on Wednesday, October 22, at 7:00pm in the middle school gym. Competitive cheer starts practice on October 20th. Boys 7th and 8th grade basketball starts on October 27th. Girls 7th and 8th grade basketball and wrestling start on January 5th.
